Return to Index

In this index, numbers at the end of the entry indicate in which chapter(s) the word(s) can be found. Links to the chapters (1-9) are found at the top of the index; clicking on a numbered link will take you to that chapter and once in the chapter you can search the chapter for the word(s) you want. (Once you have the chapter visible, pressing the F3 key on your keyboard may bring up a search box or you can go to Edit then Find on the menu at the top of the screen.)

To move through the index, you can just scroll down or, at the top of the index, you can click the link for the letter of the alphabet you want to go to and then scroll from there.

When you see a full name (like the first listing for Abbie Ballenger), that indicates that you will find that name ONLY in relation to that person (there are no other Abbies in any of the files). When you find just the name (like the second listing which is for Abe), that indicates that there will be more than one Abe found – sometimes in the same chapter, sometimes in multiple chapters.

Information in ( ): Information which is included for clarification, (and so not necessarily found in the text) has been placed in ( ) in the index. For example, place names have the county and state included in the index even though this information may not be found in the actual chapter or may not be found in every instance of the word in a chapter.
